This was a semester-long research endeavor in which as different subject was studied and presented each week, meticulously unwraveling the secrets behind Louis Kahn’s most ambitious built project.
Our Daylight Study model focuses on the Prayer Hall of the Parliament Building, where Kahn employs his conceptual light columns in the corners of the space. We built and took our model to PG&E’s Heliodon at their office in San Francisco to physically simulate how the light diffuses into the space throughout the following days:
